Starting today (3-6-13) my ever-opinionated self will be exposed to the readers of the expanding amNewYork, already the largest circulation newspaper in Manhattan. I will link the lead paragraph of the column on the day it runs, then fill in the rest of the story a couple of days later.

I recently heard my neighbors arguing loudly. One of them finally screamed “I want to kill you!” before slamming the door and leaving. Should I have called 9-11?

Much as I find this story quite distasteful (pun intended) and would be happier if sickos like this were not walking the streets, I think you’ve got it right…the jury is not likely to swallow the prosecution’s line of reasoning as pertains to the major charges. Conviction on the lesser charges should result in a lengthy sentence, given the overall circumstances.
